From November 4 to 8, the delegation led by Minister of Economy, Shahin Mustafayev visited the People's Republic of China. Elshan Asadov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of "Food Products` Procurement and Supply" OJSC was also presented at the delegation.
The meeting of the Azerbaijan-China Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in the course of the visit, it was noted at the meeting with Vice President of the State Customs Administration of China, Li Quo that the trade turnover between the two countries increased by 20 percent. About 46 percent of China's trade with the South Caucasus belongs to Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani delegation took part in the First China International Import Exhibition, which was held in Shanghai and displayed a single stand of Azerbaijan, it was actively represented in "Trade and Investment", "One Line, One Way of Environmental Agriculture and Food Safety", "Global Trade and International Logistics", organized within the framework of the exhibition. The delegation visited the "Azerbaijan Wine House", which was opened in Shanghai city.
As a result of the visit, it was decided to set up a Working Group for coordination of transport links between the two countries.
Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Elshan Asadov assessed the importance of the discussions: "This visit will be of great importance in terms of establishing future economic relations. All aspects of cooperation with the Chinese side were discussed in detail. The main objective of the discussions was to stimulate the export of Azerbaijani products to the Chinese market. The single will is expressed to expand our products in the giant markets of China and to overcome the obstacles facing it. In particular, the customs, tax rates and optimization of logistics opportunities were seriously discussed”.
